Individual Counseling helps you work through issues systematically, so you feel empowered to move forward
Couples Counseling is brief, short term and solution focused so you can start seeing positive results in your
relationship right away.
As a Marriage & Family Therapist, and Licensed Professional Counselor, I have extensive experience helping couples, individuals and children change harmful patterns, build solid relationships, and achieve happy, fulfilling lives.
My formal education consists of a Master's Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Fuller Graduate School of Psychology, a Master's Degree in Cross Cultural Studies from Fuller School of Intercultural Studies, and a Master's of Divinity in Theology from Princeton Seminary.
What sets me apart from a lot of other counselors is my treatment plans that keep clients on a systematic, results-oriented approach to change. I have put together a focused, short term program to help clients achieve their goals quickly, even after 1-2 visits. I strive to help my clients see changes right away, not months from now.
Some of my clients are globally mobile: diplomats, international students, missionaries, overseas English teachers, multinational executives, military, UN officials and expatriates. I understand the stresses and demands placed on these people while living in cross cultural settings.
Starting out as a 12 year old, I have lived and worked for several decades as an expatriate in many countries (Russia, Austria, Switzerland, Holland, Finland and former Czechoslovakia).
I have had private counseling practices in Amsterdam, Lausanne, Vienna and Moscow.
In the United States, I have had a private counseling practice in Washington, DC, and now one in Princeton, NJ.
As a mother, I understand the difficulties parents face today raising children. I am able to offer support, encouragement and counseling services to parents of children with autism, special needs, developmental delays, high IQ and gifted children.
"Being a wife and a mother of three, a working professional, an active community member and PTA member, the hustle and bustle of every day life had certainly taken its toll after 14 years. My marriage was in a rut and my body was failing. After a month's visit and several homework assignments from Helen, I was quickly on my way to the 360 turn around I wanted for my marriage and me".
